Weaning Lamb Fattening Technology

Lambs have the characteristics of rapid weight gain, high feed remuneration, low product cost, short production cycle, and high economic benefits. Therefore, lamb fattening and production has developed rapidly in recent years. Lamb fattening is a very technical job. In practice, strict implementation of various technical measures is required. Because of the different weaning weights of lambs, the fattening techniques adopted by the lambs differed. The fattening technique measures for different weaning weight lambs are as follows. (I) Preparation of Lambs before Fattening In order to obtain the ideal fattening effect, all preparatory work before fattening must be done. Before weaning lambs fattening should do the following aspects. (1) Do a good job of feeding and management of lambs during lactation. At the age of 7-10 days, the lambs start to be tempted and 15-20 days old to supplement feeds. The feeds can be easily digested and diversified, promote the development of the forequarters, use plant feeds as soon as possible, increase the source of nutrition, and nurture birth. Long-developed, healthy lambs lay a good foundation for fattening. (2) According to the lamb fattening production plan, sufficient fodder is stocked to meet the fattening demand; avoiding the shortage of fodder preparation, frequent replacement of fattening fodder will affect the fattening effect. (3) Fatty lambs were grouped according to sex and weight. (4) It is an important measure to ensure good fattening effect by carrying out insect repellent work in vitro and in vivo to reduce the influence of parasitic diseases. (5) Clean up and disinfect the housing for fattening, prevent the onset of sheep during fattening, and do a good job of sanitation during the fattening. (6) Weighing before fattening so that it can be combined with the weighing at the end of fattening to examine the effects and benefits of fattening. (2) Fertilizer combination and fattening The weight of fattening fat should be 60% of corn, 18% of oil residue, 20% of bran, 1% of salt, and 1% of vitamin and trace element additives. Forage grass consists of high-quality green hay, silage, and crop stalks. It is fed 2-3 times a day, so that drinking water is continuously provided to ensure water and feed hygiene. The weight of fattening slaughter is about 40 kg.
