Google Verily launches new health tracking watch

Searching giant Google's startup startup, Verily Life Sciences, has released a health tracking watch that is scheduled to be deployed in large-scale medical research.

The product, called "Study Watch," looks like an ordinary watch and is equipped with a low-power electronic ink screen.

Verily said that they hope to use this watch to continuously collect volunteer physiological data in an undetectable way. According to Verily, this watch collects physiological data such as heart rate, electrocardiogram, exercise data, and skin conductivity. In addition, it can be used to detect ambient light and sound.

Currently, this watch is not available for sale. Instead, it is a “scientific research facility” for clinical research that will be used in long-term medical research projects including Baseline, which tracks thousands of healthy or non-healthy volunteers to discover their physiological Key biomarkers.

Currently, Verily has not applied to the FDA (US Food and Drug Administration) for the sale of watches as medical devices, but the company said in a blog post: "In the future, we plan to include this watch in a series of health research programs. in."

DT Jun first focused on this watch in September last year, because Verily's chief technology officer Brian Otis was wearing the watch, which he described as "a more practical tracker."

The problem with most wearable devices is that people are not always willing to wear them, especially those with complex designs. But the health tracking watch that is left idle at home can't do anything. In order for the user to accept the product, Verily said that the watch's battery lasts for up to a week, and it can store the raw data generated in the same time, so there is no need to synchronize frequently.
