Scientists start with what genes play a role in breast cancer formation, hoping to find genes involved in breast cancer and clarify the changes in these genes.
In collaboration with the University of Nebraska Medical School, the researchers used the hospital's breast cancer model to select the two oncogenes and 10 tumor suppressor genes most likely to be associated with breast cancer, using molecular biology techniques. Up to 8 years of research experiments. It was finally confirmed that the two selected oncogenes and seven tumor suppressor genes played an important biological role in the development of breast cancer, thus confirming the dysplasia of breast cancer as the essence of precancerous lesions of breast cancer at the molecular level. Early diagnosis of breast cancer provides an important experimental basis. For the first time, new ideas and diagnostic models for predicting and early diagnosis of breast cancer by detecting abnormal genes of oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes in benign breast lesions have been proposed. At present, the results have been applied to postgraduate pathology teaching and prognosis diagnosis of breast cancer proliferative diseases by 14 units in China, and also provide a basis for the development of breast cancer treatment drugs.
The head of the research team and director of the Department of Pathology of the Kunming General Hospital of the People's Liberation Army told Yang that the breast cancer is growing at an annual rate of 0.3%-8%, which is the first killer of female cancer patients. The completion and continued research of the project has important theoretical and practical value for the diagnosis and prevention of breast cancer and the development of tumor pathology.
