Schisandra fruit rot is a common disease that causes brown or black spots on the fruit surface, which eventually turn black. To manage this issue, it's recommended to use a 50% Daisen ammonium solution diluted at 500–600 times. Apply the spray every 10 days for a total of 3–4 treatments. This method helps prevent the spread of the disease and protects the quality of the fruit.
Root rot in Schisandra chinensis typically occurs between early May and early August. Once infected, the roots begin to decay, and the outer bark peels off. Affected plants usually die within a few days. A 1:1:100 Bordeaux mixture can be used for irrigation to control the disease effectively. It's important to act quickly once symptoms are noticed to minimize crop loss.
Leaf blight commonly appears from late May to mid-July, starting as yellow spots on the leaf tips that gradually expand and cover the entire leaf. High humidity, warm temperatures, and poor air circulation contribute to the severity of the disease. To manage it, you can use a 400–500 times dilution of a fungicide, or 1500 times thiophanate zinc. It's best to start spraying in late April, once a week. In severe cases, applying Bordeaux mixture daily may also be effective. Regular monitoring and timely intervention are key to controlling this disease.
