Diabetic people recommend vaccination

Dr. Tang Yaowu, deputy director of the Beijing Preventive Medicine Association, emphasized that pneumococcus is the culprit for pneumonia. Of the more than 90 serotypes, the most common 23 sera can cause nearly 90% of pneumonia. It is on this basis that the World Health Organization and many national health authorities strongly recommend that diabetic patients be vaccinated with 23-valent pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccines to prevent pneumonia.

According to the recommendations of the World Health Organization, diabetic patients should be vaccinated with flu vaccine when they are vaccinated against pneumonia. This can serve as a double insurance. The biggest difference between the two vaccines is that the flu vaccine needs to be vaccinated annually, and the immunization period for vaccination against pneumococcal vaccine is 5 years.
