Prevent the death of peppers and change the planting method

In the area of Baocheng Street, Changle County, Shandong Province, the main planting peppers are the main culprits in Qiuping. Recently, when we interviewed in the local area, vegetable farmers generally reflected the phenomenon of dead trees. Through our visits, we saw that local farmers are planting deep trenches when planting peppers, that is, planting trenches before planting, with a depth of about 20-25cm, planting peppers at the bottom of the trenches, and covering the soil to the level of the trenches. Cultivation methods.
This unscientific method of planting is the main reason for the death of the local pepper. The root system of Capsicum annuum is underdeveloped. The root volume of each plant is small and the soil is shallow. Most of the root system is distributed within the shallow soil layer 15-20cm above the surface. The deep planting method of the ditch plant made most of the root system distributed in the soil layer below the surface of 20cm. The poor soil permeability in deep soil is not conducive to the growth and development of pepper roots. In addition, after watering, water often appears in the bottom of the ditch, which can cause root suffocation and dead trees. It is unscientific that the deep-buried planting method of chili pepper plants does not meet the biological characteristics of pepper.
To solve the problem of dead trees, local farmers must first change their planting methods. The ditch planting can be deeply buried and settled. That is to say, after ridging, the ridge height is about 20cm, and the seedlings are planted on slopes of ridge roofs or sloping slopes to meet the requirement that the root system of peppers has good permeability to the soil. It is also possible to avoid the watery roots, pathogens and water. Dissemination, damage to rainwater, etc. Can also be changed into a ditch planted deeply planted shallow slope planting. First open 20cm of the ditch, and then in the upper slope of the ditch in accordance with the spacing of 45cm planting hole dug, planting the hole from the ditch about 15cm or so, and then the seedlings shallow planting in the planting hole. When watering, the roots and stems of the peppers should not be past the water surface. This will allow pepper rhizosphere soil permeability, but also to avoid the rain caused by flooding or excessive watering roots, rot, but also to control the amount of water, reduce the incidence of rot in the closed hole after the disease.
