The economic value of wolfberry fruit, also known as goji berry, has long been recognized in traditional Chinese medicine for its numerous health benefits. It is valued for its anti-cancer properties, detoxifying effects, and pain-relieving capabilities. Beyond its medicinal use, the fruit is also used to create high-end dishes, making it increasingly popular in gourmet cuisine and driving up market demand.
Scorpions are cold-blooded creatures, and their activity levels are closely tied to environmental temperature. During hibernation, they prefer temperatures between 3-5°C, with a maximum limit of -2°C to 7°C. When the temperature rises above 10°C, scorpions begin to wake up and become slightly active. At 15°C, most of them start feeding in small amounts. As the temperature climbs to 20°C, many scorpions begin to eat more regularly, while at 25°C, their feeding becomes more frequent and their growth accelerates. When the temperature reaches 30°C, their development speeds up, reproduction rates increase, and the survival rate of larvae improves significantly. The ideal temperature range for scorpion growth, breeding, and survival is 32-35°C. If this temperature can be maintained, the gestation period lasts about 95 days, and each female can give birth to three litters per year. From birth to maturity, scorpions typically take around 8 months. However, if the temperature exceeds 38°C, dehydration becomes a risk. In the wild, scorpions have a life cycle that spans approximately 1,000 days (about 4 years). Their annual growth can be divided into four phases: the growth period (from Qingming to Bailu), the filling period (from the Equinox to Frost's Descent), the dormancy period (from Cold Dew to Rain Water), and the recovery period (from the Start of Spring to Qingming). Greenhouse farming can significantly reduce the growth cycle, allowing for faster and more controlled breeding.
Scorpion Food Sources:
In captivity, scorpions are commonly fed mealworms, grasshoppers, and fruit flies. They can also consume a variety of other insects such as crickets, cockroaches, beetles, ants, and even small rodents. A balanced diet is essential for their health and growth.
Breeding Facilities and Infrastructure:
Scorpions can be raised in various containers such as bottles, pots, boxes, ponds, or pits. However, maintaining an appropriate temperature is crucial, so heating equipment is often required to simulate their natural environment and ensure optimal conditions for their development.
