It’s funny how life changes when you become a parent, especially in the early days. In the months following my baby’s arrival, I found myself in this weird limbo where I could fit into some pre-baby clothes again, but my wardrobe felt anything but free. Those cute sundresses? Not happening unless I wanted to deal with the hassle of adjusting them every time I needed to nurse—and let’s just say, that’s not something I’m interested in doing. So while I could comfortably slip into skinny jeans and leggings, and still loved my maxi skirts, my daily outfit choices pretty much revolved around tank tops. They’re simple, practical, and perfect for quick nursing sessions without making a scene.
Traveling with a newborn was an adventure in itself, but I made sure to keep things as stress-free as possible—especially when it came to getting dressed. Comfort was key, but I also wanted to maintain a bit of style. I ended up packing outfits that felt like they were borrowed straight from my pajama drawer. Layering is crucial because airplanes can swing from freezing to sweltering in seconds. Knit pants are my go-to for long flights—they’re cozy yet polished, and they pair well with everything from sandals to boots. A nursing camisole underneath a loose-fitting tee always comes in handy for feeding on the go, and a lightweight scarf doubles as both an accessory and a makeshift blanket when needed. During colder months, I throw on a leather jacket to elevate the look and add warmth, and it’s light enough to leave some room for extra pairs of shoes in my luggage. Sneaky wins like that make packing easier!
What about you? Do you prioritize style or comfort when traveling? Sometimes I wish I could blend the two seamlessly, but hey, we all have our own priorities.
Happy travels,
xo
