First, species selection In order to increase silage production, should choose plant height, leaf width, high yield of stem and leaf ear, lodging resistance and other characteristics of the species is appropriate. In the production practice, the author conducted a comparative test on more than 10 varieties of corn, and determined the plant height, plant fresh weight, water content of whole-plant corn cutting, dry matter yield, and nutrient components during the growth period. In contrast, selected varieties such as Kodo 2-4, Donglingbai and Yinghong are suitable for the silage of whole corn.
Second, the cultivation points In order to increase production, the first choice should be fertile and suitable for corn growth in the soil, before planting to make a good, full base fertilizer, per acre to apply farmhouse manure 3000 to 4000 kg or 40 kg of NPK compound fertilizer Base fertilizer. Practice has proved that silage whole corn should be cast in the wax ripening period is more appropriate. In this period, the water content of the whole plant corn is about 65 to 68%, and the dry matter content per unit area is also high, and the nutrient level is also the highest. The silage loss is the smallest, and it is easy to disintegrate and compact.
Fourth, operating technology
1. The preparation of silo The silo should be selected in the high-dry terrain, low groundwater level, close to the livestock house, away from the water source and pit, the specifications according to the size of the silage, the general small silo can be set to 1.5 to 2.0 meters wide The length of the pit may be determined by the amount of silage. The pit bottom and walls are made of concrete. The bottom of the pit is preferably made of waterproof asphalt. There shall be drains around the pit to ensure drainage.
In order to reduce the cost of silo, ground storage method can also be used: that is, on the ground with a plastic film surrounded by strict, compaction, storage.
2. Silage Method (1) Crushing: The whole corn should be chopped with a chopper (silver machine) before the silage. The length of the chopped meat should be about 1 to 2 cm. It should not be too long or too short. It is not conducive to feeding during short feeding and it is also not conducive to digestion and utilization of ruminants. If it is too long to be compacted and the air in the straw is not exhausted, an anaerobic environment cannot be created, which is not conducive to the growth of anaerobic bacteria (Lactobacillus, etc.), and it is easy to produce bacteria and cause failure.
(2) Cellar: The shredded corn stalks should be loaded into the cellar in a timely manner and compacted. Do not stack the corn stalks outside the cellar for too long. The pressure is as good as possible. Load 20 to 30 centimeters into the pit, cover it with plastic sheeting, fill in 40 centimeters of soil, and fill 10 to 20 centimeters above the ground. After a few days, if there is a collapse of the filling, it can be used to fill in the soil.
(3) Reclaimed material: 30 to 40 days after silage, you can open the cellar to take the material and feed it. When you open the cellar, you need to take it with you.
