Pingmai 998 is a high-yielding, versatile wheat variety developed by the Pingdingshan Academy of Agricultural Sciences through crossbreeding between the parental lines Shanyou 225 and Yumai 21 (also known as Zhou Mai 9). This new variety is not only high-yielding but also exhibits strong resistance to lodging and diseases, making it suitable for a wide range of growing conditions.
It is a medium winter wheat variety with a growth cycle of approximately 228 days. The seedlings are semi-erect, vigorous, and possess strong tillering capacity. The plant height is moderate, around 76 cm, which contributes to its excellent lodging resistance. The plant structure is semi-tight, with leaves that stand upright and waxy stems. The internodes beneath the ear are short, resulting in a compact and well-structured ear. The spike is spindle-shaped, with neatly arranged grains, and the ears turn a bright yellow when mature. The grains have long awns, are hard (keratinous), full, and feature a dark embryo. On average, there are about 411,000 ears per mu, with 35.3 grains per ear and a grain weight of 43.3 grams. It also shows good resistance to leaf blight.
In the 2006–2007 regional trials conducted in Henan Province's Group II for high-fat winter wheat, Pingmai 998 achieved an average yield of 513.1 kg per mu, which was 3.93% higher than the control variety Yumai 49. In the following year, from 2007 to 2008, it participated in the production trial of the same group and yielded an average of 527.9 kg per mu, surpassing Yumai 49 by 6.1%.
For optimal performance, Pingmai 998 is recommended for cultivation in medium to high fertility soils during the early to mid-season in the province, excluding southern rice and buckwheat areas. The ideal sowing period is between October 5th and 15th. For high fertility fields, the seeding rate should be 6–9 kg per mu, while for moderate and low fertility areas, the seeding rate can be slightly increased to ensure better establishment and yield.
Polybutylene Succinate PBS
White particles, polyethylene glycol butyl diacid butyl ester (PBS) by succinic acid and butyl glycol by condensation polymerization of synthetic, resin in milky white, odorless, vulnerable to a variety of microorganisms or plants and animals in nature of the enzyme catabolism, eventually decomposed into carbon dioxide and water, is typical of completely biodegradable polymer material has good biological compatibility and biological absorbability;Density of 1.26 g/cm3, melting point 114, according to the high or low molecular weight and molecular weight distribution, crystallinity between 30 ~ 45% in the 1990 s it into the material research field, and quickly became can be widely applied in the universal one of research hotspots of biodegradable plastic materials, heat resistant performance is good, heat distortion temperature, and the products using the temperature can exceed 100 synthetic raw material sources can be either its oil resources, also can through fermentation by biological resources, PBS are outstanding in biodegradable plastic materials.
