Third, proper irrigation is necessary. Apricot trees are sensitive to waterlogging, so drainage is key during rainy seasons. In autumn, controlled watering supports nutrient storage and flower bud formation. If there's a dry spell, consider watering between August and September to maintain moisture without over-saturating the roots. Fourth, foliar feeding can be beneficial for weaker trees or those that struggled during fruit development. After harvest, spray leaves with a solution of 0.2%–0.4% urea and 0.3% potassium dihydrogen phosphate every 10 days for about five to six applications. Fifth, plant growth regulators such as paclobutrazol (500 mg/kg) can be used to control excessive growth and promote better flower bud development. It can be mixed with urea or potassium dihydrogen phosphate for enhanced effectiveness. Sixth, deep plowing in autumn helps aerate the soil and improve root development. Plow to a depth of about 20 cm before the ground freezes, and consider digging trenches between rows up to 60 cm deep. When refilling, mix topsoil with compost, manure, or other organic materials to enrich the soil. Seventh, pest control is critical after harvest. Spray insecticides and fungicides such as dicamba, trichlormethaxon, or carbendazim to prevent diseases and protect the leaves. Adding a 3% urea solution can further support tree health. Clean up fallen fruit to avoid disease spread. Lastly, watering before winter helps the trees withstand cold weather. Apply water in early winter, before the ground freezes, adjusting the amount based on drought conditions and tree age. This ensures the trees remain healthy and ready for the next growing season.
