On December 25th, the groundbreaking ceremony of the Lanzhou Heavy Ion Medical Research Center and the Test and Debugging Center of the Binhe New Area of ​​the Institute of Modern Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was held. The construction address of Lanzhou Heavy Ion Medical Research Center and Test and Debugging Center is located between 607# Road and 605# Road, Yantan North Beach, Chengguan District, Lanzhou City, covering an area of ​​50 mu. The center is a multi-functional integrated base for the development, testing and commissioning of heavy ion treatment tumor technology research and small-scale heavy ion beam treatment tumor special equipment. The central project is planned to be constructed in three phases, the first phase of the construction test and commissioning center; the second phase of the construction of the heavy ion treatment technology research center; the third phase of the construction technology application center and supporting public works. The total construction area is about 85,000 square meters and the total investment is about 280 million yuan.
The first phase of the construction started this time - the total construction area of ​​the test and commissioning center is 7056m2, with a total investment of about 25 million yuan, mainly including the magnet power test and debugging center (1517 m2), the vacuum high-frequency test and debugging center (2936 m2), and electronics. Control test and commissioning center (2604 m2) and related supporting facilities. The second phase of the project has been included in the 12th Five-Year Plan of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
The construction of the Lanzhou Heavy Ion Medical Research Center and the Test and Debugging Center project is the result of the coordination and support of the leaders of the Lanzhou Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government and relevant departments.
