After the beginning of autumn, field management

After the start of autumn, many farmers believe that field management is coming to an end. They often say, “This year’s crops are growing better than ever before. We’ve set the autumn and hung the hooks—now it’s time to take a break and wait for the harvest.” As a result, some farmers stop paying attention to their farmland, thinking that the hard work is over. However, this mindset is seriously flawed and doesn’t match the realities of modern farming. Today, most farms grow multiple crops in the same area, with different stages of growth and maturity. One crop might be ready for harvest while others are still young or in the early growth phase. Because of varying planting schedules, techniques, and technologies, each crop requires different management approaches. Plus, with new varieties, advanced agricultural methods, and technological innovations constantly emerging, farmers must stay on top of these changes to ensure successful yields. This year, the season has been delayed slightly, which has pushed back the maturation of many crops. Even though autumn has officially arrived, there are still numerous crops that need careful attention. Farmers should continue managing fields based on weather changes, watering, fertilizing, pesticide application, pest control, pruning, root cutting, and weeding—especially for crops like cotton and vegetables, which require more precise care. Therefore, even if the harvest hasn’t started yet, field management shouldn’t be relaxed or stopped. Instead, farmers should "set the fall, keep managing, and manage until the bumper harvest." Only by maintaining consistent and thorough care can they ensure a bountiful yield and secure a full harvest for the entire year.
