First, many kids love sweets, and there are countless beautifully packaged sugary snacks available in supermarkets and malls. However, long-term consumption of these treats can not only reduce their appetite but also lead to mental health issues like irritability, frequent crying, and temper tantrums. Parents should therefore limit their children’s intake of sweets. Second, some children are fond of instant noodles, especially those with cute cartoon packaging. However, these noodles are typically fried, high in salt and MSG, and low in protein, vitamins, and essential minerals. Regular consumption is not advisable for children. Third, during the summer, many kids enjoy cold drinks like ice cream and frozen desserts. Eating too much of these can cause digestive problems, such as indigestion and stomach cramps. So, it's best to avoid overindulging in cold foods during hot weather. According to Professor Xu, providing children with a well-balanced diet is fundamental to their healthy development. This includes two key aspects: the quantity of food—how much they eat—and the quality of food, which means ensuring a diverse range of nutrient-rich options. By focusing on both aspects, parents can help their children grow stronger and healthier.
